I-DREAM 을 후원하고 지지하여 주시는 모든 분들께 깊은 감사와 함께 새해 인사를 전합니다.
2019년에는 2018년에 시작한 삼성 투모로우 솔루션 프로젝트와 SK 사회적가치연구원 (CSES) 의 프로젝트를 주축으로 한 한국사업들과 지금까지 지속적으로 진행되어 온 아프리카 지원사업들이 함께 진행되었습니다.
- I-DREAM 의 협회 결성과 함께 시작된 아프리카의 과학교재 연구 사업은 그동안 현지학교에 책보내기 운동을 거쳐서 2017년부터는 전자도서관 보급사업으로 진행되어 왔습니다. 2019년에는 아프리카 챠드에 총 6대의 전자도서관을 보급하였으며, 2019년 9월에는 케냐에 별도로 5대의 전자도서관을 보급하였습니다.
- 특히나, 2019년 8월에 Good Neighbors Int’l Chad 와 함께 진행한 워크숍에서는 GNI Chad 가 지원하고 있는 여러 현지학교의 선생님들을 대상으로 전자도서관을 실제 수업에 활용하는 실습을 진행하여, 단순히 전자도서관의 장비 보급이 아닌, 이를 활용하는 방법의 교육에 이르기까지 포괄적인 교육서비스 지원을 선보였습니다.
- I-DREAM 건축팀은 2016년부터 시작한 아프리카 챠드, 은자메나 시의 교육센터 설계지원 의 교육동과 기숙사동 건물 설계지원과 함께 챠드를 포함하는 사헬지역에 보급할 수 있는 흙건축 연구를 진행해왔습니다. 향후 프로젝트 예산을 확보하여, 앞으로 현지의 기후와 경제적여건을 고려한 모든 현지인들을 위한 흙집 설계와 기술을 보급하기 위한 준비를 하고 있습니다.
- 삼성투모로우 솔루션 프로젝트에서는 2018년에 아이디어의 제안으로 우수상을 수상하였고, 이를 실제로 현지에 적용해보는 시제품의 구현 작업을 2019년에 진행하였습니다. 이를 통하여 사막의 기후에서도 온실의 구현이 현지의 농작물 생산에 도움을 줄 수 있다는 의미있는 데이터를 만들어낼 수 있었습니다.
- 2018년에 프로젝트를 착수한 SK 사회적가치연구원 사업에서는 여러 NGO 기관 소속의 연구자, 활동가들을 인터뷰하면서, 어떻게 하면 더욱 효율적인 ODA 사업을 추진할 수 있는 인력을 양성할 수 있을 것인가에 대한 연구를 2019년 지속 추진하였니다.
협회의 취지에 따라, I-DREAM은 동반성장에 관한 토론의 장을 열고, 많은 분들의 참여를 유도하고자 합니다. 협력 관계에 있는 공동체의 필요에 따라, 회원들과 협력 단체들의 지식과 경험, 그리고 에너지를 결집하여 도움이 될 수 있는 방법을 찾고 있습니다.이러한 저희 활동을 가능하게 하는 것은 회원들의 노력과 함께 저희들을 지원해주시는 모든 분들의 관심과 후원입니다.
I-DREAM은 2020년에 다음과 같은 사업을 중점적으로 추진하고자 준비 중에 있습니다.
- 협회의 설립 이후 6년여간의 기간동안 협회의 모든 회원들이 함께 고민해온 동반성장을 추구하는 이유와 방법에 대한 정리를 할 시간을 갖고자 합니다. 이를 위하여 협회의 지난 활동의 경험에 따른 교훈과 앞으로 나아갈 길에 대한 토론을 하는 장을 만들고자 합니다.
- 유럽 현지에서 동반성장의 기치를 더욱 넓게 전파할 수 있는 활동에 좀 더 신경을 쓰겠습니다. 이를 위하여, 유럽의 거점 도시들에서 이전에 주로 EKC 의 과학교실의 일환으로 진행해오던 청소년 적정기술 캠프를 각 도시별 행사로 진행하고자 합니다. 아울러, I-DREAM 회원들이 함께 모여서 토론하는 I-DREAM Day 행사 역시 여러 도시에서 개최하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
- 현재 진행중인 아프리카 사업 (전자도서관 보급, 흙건축 사업 등) 들을 더욱 효율적으로 진행하기 위하여 현지의 NGO 들과 협력을 강화하고, 유럽과 한국 등에서 관련 기관들과 적극적으로 협력하겠습니다.
2020년 새해를 맞이하면서, I-DREAM은 저희 협회를 후원하고 지지하여 주시는 모든 분들과 가족들이 늘 건강하고 행복하시길 기원합니다.
그리고 저희들의 작은 노력이 전세계 동반성장을 이끌어내어 좀 더 많은 사람들이 삶의 질을 높이고 모두가 행복할 수 있는 따뜻한 사회를 만들어 살아가는데 일조할 수 있기를 기대합니다.

I-DREAM 이사회 배상
Dear supporters of I-DREAM, members of I-DREAM,
We wish all the warm-hearted supporters and their family members a wonderful new year 2020.
In 2019, I-DREAM has invested a meaningful efforts in the Samsung Tomorrow Solution Impact project and Center for Social Value Enhancement (CSES) project, in parallel to its traditional supporting activities for Inclusive Development in Africa.
- The science educational contents development project in Africa, which began with the formation of the I-DREAM Association, has been progressing as an electronic library distribution project since 2017, after several book donation campaign to the local schools in the previous years. In 2019, a total of 6 e-libraries were distributed in Chad, and in September 2019, five e-libraries were also distributed in Kenya.
- In particular, in August 2019, a teachers training workshop has been conducted with Good Neighbors Int’l in Chad, where teach teachers from several local schools have conducted school class supporting material development using the given e-Library. In this occasion, we were able to introduce comprehensive education support services.
- The I-DREAM architecture team has been conducting earth construction research in the Sahel region, including Chad, along with the building architecture design support for the education and accommodation buildings in N’Djamena, Chad. For 2020, we are preparing to distribute earthen house design and technology considering the local climate and economic conditions.
- I-DREAM has won the Excellence Award of the Samsung Tomorrow Solution Idea domain in 2018 and continued its prototype implementation as part of the Samsung Tomorrow Impact project in 2019. This has produced meaningful data that the implementation of greenhouses, even in desert climates, can help improving local agricultural activities.
- For the SK CSES project, which also started in 2018, we have performed interviews with researchers and activists from various NGOs and institutions and in 2019 we have continued our research activities on how to foster human resources who can promote more efficient ODA projects.
As per the objective of the association, I-DREAM will continue holding the forum of discussions, seminars and conferences, where many could participate and discuss how to improve the world inequalities and eradicate the poverty in the developing countries.
All these activities could only be possible with the efforts and interest of all members and of all supporters.
In 2020, I-DREAM plans to perform the following priority tasks;
- We would organize reflection forums for gathering the reasons and methods of pursuing the Inclusive Development with all members of the association, who have been discussing and investigating for the last six years since the foundation. Such forum will certainly help to identify lessons learned from the past activities and the way forward of I-DREAM.
- I-DREAM DAY organisation will be continued in several European cities, inviting all interested personnel for discussion. In parallel, Appropriate Technology Camp for Youth will also be organised as and when possible for several cities in Europe.
- We will continue to bring our efforts for the on-going projects such as educational contents distribution/training, earth construction technology development, for which we will look for strengthening collaborations with other NGOs in Africa, Korea and Europe.
